Hello everyone, Laserus here with another great threadQ: YouTube shows I earned $100 two days ago, but my Fullscreen/BBTV/Machinima dashboard shows $0 earned! What's going on?!?
Today, I decided to finally make a Frequently Asked Questions (F.A.Q.) thread on the topic of YouTube and Traffic Exchanges. As many of you know, there have been MANY traffic exchanges opened up within the past few weeks, and the amount of questions I get asked through posts and PM's is far too much to handle. I usually get between 10 -
20 questions asked daily, and I am just one man, and can't handle all the questions, especially since most of the questions are questions that have already been publicly answered before.
In that case, I've decided to make this thread to host all questions and answers in the Original Post.
Being the dedicated YT "go-to" guy here on TBN, I thought I'd be able to give the best answers to your questions.
If you have any questions regarding YouTube and Traffic Exchanges, make sure it isn't already answered in this post, and if not, go ahead and leave a question down below as a post and I'll make sure to answer it, and add it to the OP!!
Without further ado, let's get this started!
1.
Q: Do Traffic Exchanges still work with YouTube?
A: As of November 18, 2015, yes, Traffic Exchanges do work with YouTube!
----------------------
2.
Q: I'm using (x) Traffic Exchange to send hits, but my video shows only shows 100 views!! Is something wrong?
A: To answer this question, you really need to ask the owner of the Traffic Exchange if he/she offers "views" for the videos. If they do, then something is wrong. If they don't offer views, and only offer monetized playbacks, then nothing is wrong here. AGAIN, I must emphasize, it'll be different with EVERY Traffic Exchange. For example, last time I checked, websyndic worked for YouTube views AND monetized playbacks, but a site such as Hitleap does NOT work for views.
----------------------
3.
Q: What is the difference between monetized views and views?
A: Monetized views are what earn you money. YouTube does NOT pay you based on the number of views your video gets. They pay you based on the number of times an ad was viewed. If you have 100,000 views on your video, but 80% of your audience uses ad-blocker, you're only going to get paid for 20,000 views.
----------------------
4.
Q: What are realtime views?
A: Realtime views is a measurement of how many times your video was viewed/there was an impression. That means, everytime your link is clicked or opened up, even if it's just for a second, your realtime views will increase. (You may think of realtime views as a URL shortener. Everytime that link receives a hit, it increases by one)
----------------------
5.
Q: What are the best networks to use when using Traffic Exchanges?
A: From my own personal experience, I know that Fullscreen, BBTV, and Machinima ALL pay for botted traffic. Many people seem to think that Freedom will pay you for botted traffic, but they will NOT pay you. (Disclaimer : If you are earning $5 a month with botted traffic, you'll probably get paid by any network because that's such a small amount, BUT, if you're looking to make a good amount of money botting, you need to partner with a good company that does pay for botted traffic)
----------------------
6.
Q: My video shows 100 views, but it says I earned $100 on it!! Am I going to get banned? Did I earn $1 per view?!?
A: If you are using a traffic exchange, then no, you didn't get paid $1 per view. All traffic exchanges are bad for video views. YouTube can sense when a bot views your video and because of that, they'll delete most of the views. What you need to look at is the "ad-performance" section on your analytics page. That will show you how many "monetized playbacks" you received, which is the amount of ads there were viewed on your video. As long as you are with a network such as Fullscreen, BBTV, or Machinima, you WILL get paid, and you won't be banned.
----------------------
7.
Q: My video shows 10 views, but 15,000 monetized playbacks. Is that safe, or will I get banned?
A: If you are with a reliable network, such as Fullscreen, BBTV, or Machinima, you won't get banned. You have nothing to worry about. (From my own experience, I had a video that showed 900 views, and 2,000,000 monetized views and I was paid in full)
----------------------
8.
Q: What is the best view length to use with Traffic Exchanges and YouTube?
A: Personally, I use 60 second views. I do that because I get more views per day, and the CPM doesn't seem to be too bad. (Usually around $7 - $10) It's really up to you how long you want the video viewed for. Do some testing yourself to find out which time works best for you! (Results will vary depending on the Traffic Exchange that you are using!)
----------------------
9.
Q: When will I get paid from my network?
A: This question really depends on which network you are with. If you are with Fullscreen, you get paid NET30. This means, whatever you earn in October will be paid to you on November 30th.
----------------------
10.
Q: Why does my ad-performance section say I earned $1,000 but my estimated earnings show $550 ?
A: Ad-performance shows you the gross revenue. The gross revenue is the amount of money that was generated from your ad views. Many of you already know this, but some don't, but, YouTube takes 45% of ALL your earnings. That is their cut for allowing you to host your videos on their website. So, ad-performance is the amount of money earned BEFORE YouTube takes their cut. Estimated earnings shows the amount of money left over AFTER YouTube takes their cut.
----------------------
11.
Q: My estimated earnings shows $1,000 earned. Is that how much I'll be paid?
A: No. This also greatly depends on your network. If you are with Fullscreen, you'll get to keep 70% of that, which would be $700 The reason for this is that Fullscreen takes 30% of what you earn. Some networks take 20%, and some take 50%. It all depends on your network.
----------------------
12.
Q: What are YouTube cuts? I hear so many people talking about them! Please help!
A: At the end of each month, YouTube earnings begin to finalize. This means, Google goes through all of your ad views and adjusts them based on a number of factors. One factor being the number of times an ad was viewed by the same IP. If the same IP viewed the same ad 10 times in a single day, the advertisers aren't going to want to pay for ALL 10 views since it was viewed by the same IP. So, the earnings get adjusted. These "cuts" are random. It's not the same for every person. Some months tend to be better than others, but as a basis, the more IP's that view your video, the less amount of cuts you will get at the end of the month. Normally, cuts range from 5% to as much as 60% of your earnings. The more IP's in the Traffic Exchange you are using, the less cuts you will receive.
----------------------
13.
Q: My realtime stats compared to my Traffic Exchange dashboard shows I should have received 100,000 views, but my video only shows 100 views! What's going on?!?
A: This is completely normal while using a traffic exchange. The view count usually stops around 100 - 200 views, but you will STILL earn money from the views that go past that, even though the view counter doesn't change. To find out how many views you actually got, you'll have to wait around 24 - 48 hours for YouTube to update that day's analytics. Then, just check out the ad-performance section, and look at how many monetized playbacks you received on that day. (Keep in mind, this number will NOT match up with your realtime stats or your Traffic Exchange dashboard stats because some people use ad-block on their VPS's (just because they think they are funny) and ads don't show up 100% of the time on your videos)
A: Most network dashboard are more delayed than YouTube is. From my experiences, they're usually 5 - 10 hours delayed from when YouTube updates. You have nothing to worry about!
----------------------
15.
Q: My YouTube channel is linked with Adsense. Should I use Traffic Exchanges?
A: Absolutely NOT. Never bot traffic when you are using adsense directly. You will get caught, and you will NOT get paid, and your channel will get monetization banned, which means you won't be able to earn money anymore on your YouTube channel.
----------------------
16.
Q: When using Traffic Exchanges, do I have to hide my ref, or can I put the YouTube link directly into the system?
A: This depends greatly on the Traffic Exchange that you are using. Some offer "direct/anonymous" referrer for free, while some require a fee.
----------------------
17.
Q: Where can I purchase bulk VPS's for cheap?
A: I think your best bet would be to purchase a dedicated server and create multiple VM's on it with different IP addresses. Doing that can be VERY cheap (around $3 - $5 per VPS!!). OR, look around and try to do some research to find your cheapest options!
----------------------
18.
Q: My YouTube channel has monetization disabled. Can I still get partnered with a network (such as Fullscreen, BBTV, or Machinima) ?
A: No! Once monetization is disabled on your YouTube account, you may NOT get partnered. (Disclaimer: Some networks may accept you, but you won't be able to earn money because YouTube will NOT allow ads to be placed on your videos if your account has monetization disabled) @nFect has notified me that his account was "temporarily disabled". I have never had any experience with a temporary ban, so maybe once that is lifted you can get partnered, but I have no first hand experience with that situation.
----------------------
19.
Q: I'm already partnered with another network. How can I join another network, such as Fullscreen?
A: If you are already partnered, you'll have to "request to unlink" from your current network BEFORE you try to partner with another network. That button can be found on this webpage : https://www.youtube.com/features I've only ever had experience unlinking from Freedom! network, and that took 30 days to get unlinked. (Other networks may vary in time)
----------------------
20.
Q: What happens to my earnings if I unpartner from a network?
A: Your earnings from your previous network will still be paid out as long as you were going to get paid in the first place. If you used a Traffic Exchange with a network such as Freedom! and you left them, you will most likely not get paid since Freedom! doesn't pay for botted traffic. BUT, if you leave a network such as Machinima for Fullscreen, you will still get paid from Machinima for your remaining balance.
----------------------
21.
Q: Can I run more than one viewer on the same IP?
A: NO, you may only run one instance of the same Traffic Exchange viewer PER IP address. HOWEVER, if you are using many traffic exchanges, then you may run both programs on the same IP.
----------------------
22.
Q: How can I setup VPS's in BULK?
A: The only way to really do this would be to use a cloud VPS service such as AWS or Google Compute. Using these services allows you to create a system image, and then, create more VPS's from that system image. However, if you aren't using a service like this, you'll have to, unfortunately, setup each VPS individually. BUT, trust me, it's well worth the hard work!!
----------------------
23.
Q: If I put in the same link 5 times on a Traffic Exchange rather than once, will I get 5x the hits?
A: Yes! That is correct! However, I would recommend you put 5 different videos instead of the same video 5 times because if you want less cuts with YouTube, you'll want to make sure the same IP's aren't watching the same video over and over, so to help eliminate this from happening, I suggest uploading more videos than less.
----------------------
24.
Q: Why do some Traffic Exchanges give me less points for viewing a website for 30 seconds, but it costs me more points to send one hit for 30 seconds to my website?
A: Not ALL Traffic Exchanges do this, but if they do, it's to help out the economy, to ensure that it stays healthy. If people are having to spend a little bit more then we won't have someone with 10s of millions of credits. (It's a bit hard to explain, but if you've taken an economy class, you'll understand)
----------------------
25.
Q: If I can buy points for so cheap, why should I use VPS's to get points?
A: If you're a person that wants to see a Traffic Exchange succeed, then it's always encouraged to use VPS's. Also, using VPS's instead of purchasing points will always be the better route. You will earn far more points from VPS's than you will if you spend the same amount of money purchasing the points.
----------------------
26.
Q: Why am I always urged to not directly use adsense while botting my views?
A: The reason for this is adsense can easily see that you are botting your views. The reason why you should go with a network is because a network uses their adsense account, but they use it across EVERYONE in their network. This means, if the network you are partnered with gets 10,000,000 views per month, and you bot only 100,000 views per month, you're only botting 1% of ALL of their views, so it's not as easily seen by adsense. HOWEVER, some network are small enough that they check your views each month, which is why networks like Freedom! do NOT pay you for botted traffic, but a network like Fullscreen does because they get over 4,000,000,000 views per month.
----------------------
27.
Q: I hear many people talking about "High-Retention" views. What are high retention views?
A: High retention views are views in which the viewer views the video for a significant amount of time. In my opinion, a high retention view would be any view that viewed the video for more than 80% of the duration. For example, if you have a 10 minute long video, someone watching the video for at least 8 minutes would be considered a "high retention" view. High retention views do NOT mean you will earn more money.
----------------------
28.
Q: If I purchase (x) amount of points on a Traffic Exchange, how much can I expect to earn?
A: Results will greatly depend on the Traffic Exchange you are using!
29.
Q: If I apply for a partnership and get rejected, can I re-apply?
A: Yes, most networks will let you know how long you have to wait. For Fullscreen, it's 30 days, and with Machinima it's 90 days.
----------------------
30.
Q: Can I use proxies and/or HTTP bots with a Traffic Exchange instead of purchasing VPS's?
A: NO! Absolutely not! Proxies and bots are forbidden on "MOST" Traffic Exchanges and you will be banned if you are caught using them.
----------------------
31.
Q: Can I use an add-on such as no-scripts for my Traffic Exchange browser?
A: Yes! By all means! It's actually suggested to do so at this time since many people still submit bad links to the system. Even though links are manually checked, many people just love to watch the world burn, and they edit their website after it's already accepted, and then put on the bad scripts that stop your viewer from running. However, make sure to add www.youtube.com to your whitelist so that ads are still played, or it'll ruin the system for everyone!
----------------------
32.
Q: Will my network get suspicious if I send a lot of views or earn a lot of money on one video?
A: No. As long as you are with a good network (Fullscreen, Machinima, BBTV) you have nothing to worry about.
----------------------
33.
Q: I purchased points, but I haven't received them yet! How long must I wait?
A: Many websites deliver the points instantly after purchase, but some have manual verification, so results will vary.
----------------------
34.
Q: If my channel gets monetization banned, can I appeal the ban?
A: Of course you can appeal it, but I've never tried before, so I'm not sure if it's possible to get unbanned. I'd personally just let that channel go because it's quite easy to make a new one and get it partnered again. (I'm also paranoid that if you try to appeal, they'll get your network involved and tell them why you were banned, and then, maybe, your network might decide to ban you/not pay you)
----------------------
35.
Q: Since more videos is better whilst earning with YouTube, can I recycle older videos, and use them? (Example : Put link A into system and then take it out and then put it back in 2 weeks later)
A: As far as I know, new videos always have a higher CPM, but you'd have to do some testing to see which works out best for you!
----------------------
36.
Q: I found a network that gets over a billion views per month. Is it safe to partner with them?
A: No, it's not safe. Some network may get massive amounts of views, but some do check each account, or they have bots that automatically check to see if the view to monetized views ratio is too low etc. I'd only suggest going with the networks that people have already tested out before.
----------------------
37.
Q: What kind of a VPS do I need to run a Traffic Exchange viewer?
A: You can run most "web" based viewers on any operating system that has a web browser! As for VPS specifications, you will be perfectly fine with 1 core and 756MB or 1 GB of RAM.
----------------------
38.
Q: I applied to Fullscreen and want to reapply but I can't because it says I applied recently. How can I re-apply?
A: For Fullscreen, specifically, you have to wait 30 days, and then you MUST email them telling them that you're looking to re-apply, and they'll contact you back with more info. I'm not too sure about other networks.
----------------------
39.
Q: How often should I change out my links on a Traffic Exchange?
A: It's all up to you. Do some tests to figure out which method works out best for you.
----------------------
40.
Q: Which ad formats should I use on my videos?
A: All of them!
----------------------
41.
Q: If my channel gets banned or monetization banned, will my network still pay me?
A: So far, I've tested this with Fullscreen and BBTV, and yes, they do pay. However, I'm not 100% sure about other networks.
